Long-time Google AdSense publishers may remember that apart from the AdSense program, Google also offered a Referral program, where like AdSense, one had to insert a code on their websites and Affiliate or Referral ads would appear. Google retired the Referral program and had introduced the Google Affiliate Network.
But now Google has decided to retire the Google Affiliate Network program.
We’re constantly evaluating our products to ensure that we’re focused on the services that will have the biggest impact for our advertisers and publishers. To that end, we’ve made the difficult decision to retire Google Affiliate Network and focus on other products that are driving great results for clients.
The winding down of the program will be carried out gradually over the next few months, till which time Google will continue to support its customers and publishers.
Google believes that CPA-oriented Google tools like Product Listing Ads and the Remarketing and Conversion Optimizer are growing rapidly and it plans to continue to invest heavily in them, in future.
