Microsoft sells more than 750,000 Xbox 360 consoles during Black Friday week

Microsoft is going good on numbers these days. From selling more than 40 million Windows 8 licenses in the first month to more than 25 million people actively using its Outlook.com service, things are on a good note for the software giant based in Redmond.

Adding to this are the recent updates from Major Nelson from the Xbox team announcing the following stats:

  • During the Black Friday weekend, more than 750,000 Xbox 360 consoles were sold in the U.S alone!
  • Xbox LIVE Gold Subscription sales increased more than 50 percent when compared to last year’s Black Friday week.
  • This Saturday, more than 14 million people from all across the world were active on Xbox LIVE chipping more than 72 million hours of use in just one day!
  • There was a 43 percent increase in U.S. entertainment application hours logged on Xbox LIVE during the week of Black Friday as when compared to the precious year.

These are some impressive figures coming in which underline Xbox 360 as the best-selling console out there in the market. Though it faces stiff competition from Sony’s PlayStation and Nintendo’s Wii U consoles but Xbox 360 has managed to hold the grip and further rise on the sales chart, becoming an all-time favourite for a majority of gamers all over the world.

With luring deals, discounts, numerous prizes and addictive games such as Halo 4 and others, Microsoft seems to be treading on the right path with regards to Xbox 360.

Let the gaming begin!
