In short, Google is digitizing the street art and providing it (free?) to other users of Google art. Nice initiative. It’s like the Library of Congress digitizing all the tweets on Twitter. But I wonder if the street art will see a future as most of the cities like their walls “clean”. Trust me, a colorful wall will still look beautiful with paint peeling off compared to whitewashed wall that’s accumulating dust. I have a friend who’s into murals. He showed me how to do it. But it is a very tough job. Requires too much creativity and patience plus persistence.
