…bit the headline was, simply, “Users abandon Tumblr in droves now that Yahoo owns it.” Or maybe it was “now that Yahoo bought it” or something like that.

That sounds, in any case, about right to me. Yahoo should have gone out of business years ago. Microsoft, obviously, has saved it; though precisely WHY has never been entirely clear.
