No big deal; just press the Windows key and type. The jarring disconnect between Metro and Desktop? No problem; install Windows 8 Start Screen Customizer and ModernMix, and it’s almost a unified interface.

But ads in my operating system? If that’s not optional, then that is the end of Windows for me.
