In reply to Danny. Any proof for what you are saying? Or are you just resuming? I'd say it's because of the large Indian population who have just found an internet device in the form a smartphone in their hands.

“despite low Internet penetration, the number of Facebook users in India has increased steadily”. Reason is very simple, active users in India may have created multiple account with different profiles. It’s very easy for this group of users to do that as there are tremendous number of IT trained users in india. Just imagine of the 241 million accounts, assuming 20% were multiple accounts created by the a group of same person creating multiple accounts, and this group comprises of just 10 million users, and each created 3 accounts, you would easily get 30 million accounts .
