With the last naming folks at least knew that there was a difference even though they might not have understood the exact difference. With the new naming folks will work on the assumption that “Surface” is the same as “… Home Premium” versions whilst the “Surface Pro” is similar to the existing Professional versions.

As with the old naming you will still NOT be able to install full classic programs [see this link from MS:

Is this just an underhand way for MS to sell “RT” hardware? and then claim that “RT” is a success
