With the last naming folks at least knew that there was a difference even though they might not have understood the exact difference. With the new naming folks will work on the assumption that &quot;Surface&quot; is the same as &quot;... Home Premium&quot; versions whilst the &quot;Surface Pro&quot; is similar to the existing Professional versions. 

As with the old naming you will still NOT be able to install full classic programs [see this link from MS:
