MY RESPONSE: “Revoked,” not “provoked.”

As to the overall point: Yes, changing the desktop client and then not allowing anyone access to the API will, indeed, make things harder…

…but, trust me, if someone who REALLY knows what s/he’s doing wants his/her plug-in or other whatever thing to interact with Skype on the desktop, or on a phone, or in the cloud, or on Mars, it can be done.

That said, the article’s correct about how this will effectively disable pretty much anything that ever once hooked-in to Skype…

…which I think is a really dumb move on Microsoft’s part, for whatever that’s worth.
