I do believe as a computer using society we have become do dependent on an archaic design in the Qwerty keyboard. It has been proven to be a slower device to type on than newer designed models with better sorting of letters for functionality. That being said, humanity as a whole resists change, and something so basics as a keyboard, in some peoples eyes. needs no improvements. As it stands, adding more functionality to a basic key will cause more headaches than it will increase productivity. Adding a new section below the space bar seem to me to be a better idea, as your current workflow wouldn't be interrupted by a stray slide across the space bar, but all the functionality would still be at thumb level for those few who learn to use it. One day a quality replacement will come for the keyboard and its basic function, but, until there's a new paradigm in interacting with computer systems, one will rely on the basic functions of a type writer because its something that ingrained in computer users at this point, and relearning basics is a step in the wrong direction for most users.

I truly hope they will fail big time wit yet another attack on common sense.
Their touch-pads are a nightmare, after they made the "mouse" buttons a part of the whole touch-pad, that insane gimmick has destroyed a perfect work-flow when using it, insane just plain insane to crawl back to the cave instead of working for the real development.

SYNAPSIS, keep your creepy hands of the space-bar, just leave it as it is, it's working fine, just fine, do you understand just fine, as long as you keep of!

Vamien, you just caught me right after yet another 13 rounds with my touchpad :-)

I won by the way :-)
