Power BI is now free for non-profit organisations

Power BI, the interactive tracking software from Microsoft, will now be available free of cost for all non-profit organization users. This has been done to empower multiple NGOs to use software to effectively track and monitor their inflows and outflows.

Power BI is a collection of data visualization tools that allows users to transform collected data into actionable information for decision makers. The ability to transform high amounts of data is a tough and crucial task. Power BI makes it simple for modern organizations to better focus on other operations, by handling all data interpretation.

Power BI also gathers all your physical and cloud-based data in one central location that you can access whenever and wherever you want. You can also use their preset content and custom connectors to quickly import your data from services including Marketo, Salesforce, Google Analytics, and many more. While all Office 365 subscribers already have access to Power BI in their general suite, the software will now be available as a free trial version for everyone.

Power BI is available in a lot of ways. The most common is available as a free web platform that users can access with any modern web browser. The free service is limited to cloud data sources and simple dashboard sharing, and restricted to individual use. This free service has a capacity limit of 1GB per day. The ‘Pro’ version, however, is available at a rate of $9.99 per month, and allows users to access all supported data sources for business use. This version is limited to 10GB of capacity per day.

As mentioned before, for Office 365 subscribers, Power BI is available at no additional cost as part of the productivity suite. Users with Office 365 subscriptions and admin access can also download a desktop or mobile version of Power BI to use at their workstations or even on their mobile devices.
