Facebook continues to expand the overall product scope and capabilities of Messenger Rooms group calling feature that allows users to connect with up to 50 other users simultaneously. Now, Facebook clearly doesn’t want Messenger Rooms to be limited to group video calling. In fact, Facebook has added a new feature to broadcast live from Messenger Rooms.
Broadcast live with up to 50 users on Facebook
Facebook wants Messenger Rooms to be much more than just a group calling feature. Now, Facebook is expanding the existing features and capabilities of Messenger Rooms to Facebook Live.
Facebook allows users to go live. So, how is Messenger Rooms’ Broadcast Live feature different from the existing Facebook Live feature? Unlike Facebook, Messenger Rooms allows up to 50 users to be a part of a single Facebook Live feed. Meaning, you and 49 other members can broadcast live at the same time via a common video feed.
“Turning your room into a Facebook Live broadcast makes it easy to go live with up to 50 people. Whether you’re hosting a book club with friends, interviewing a panel of experts, teaching a fitness class, or broadcasting with your friends for fun, going live from a room lets you interact with audiences of any size,” Facebook said in its blog post.
Facebook observed twice as many Live broadcasts from its Pages in June this year as compared to a similar period last year. Artists and content creators have been requesting a Facebook Live feature to make multiple users a part of the same live feed for quite some time now. Well, multi-user Live broadcast is possible using Messenger Rooms.
Interested users can create a Messenger to broadcast live to Facebook and invite anyone to join. People can join Messenger Rooms even without a Facebook account. You can broadcast Messenger Rooms live to your Profile, Page or Group.
Facebook has already started rolling out a feature that allows users to broadcast their Messenger Rooms live using Facebook and Messenger Web in select countries. Facebook says it will soon expand to all countries where Messenger Rooms is available, in addition to the Facebook and Messenger mobile app and Messenger desktop app.
