Ravi Venkatesan, who has led Microsoft India for the last seven years, as Chairman and Corporate Vice President resigned on Thursday, to pursue opportunities outside Microsoft.
The resignation comes on heels of the exit of two other Microsoft Executives, Rajan Anandan, Managing Director, and Srinivas Koppolu, former Head of Microsoft’s Development Centre in Hyderabad.
The move is being linked to Microsoft CEO Ballmer’s plans for a management shake-up aimed at adding senior executives with an engineering background.
Microsoft India said that Venkatesan’s successor would be named in the near future.
Microsoft India has over 5300 employees and has the largest employee base outside of the US for Microsoft.
This and the last year have seen quite a few notable departures from Microsoft, worldwide.
