Ironic as it is, a Web or mobile service is deemed as ‘arrived’ if the mainstream media endorses or adopts it. This happened with Twitter, and now the big day has come for Microsoft Tag today with a milestone deployment in the USA Today!
It indeed is a big leap for Microsoft Tag, and offers several new opportunities for advertisers.
USA Today has announced that it will begin using Microsoft Tags in its print editions. From now, each section of USA Today– including the front page – will feature at least one Tag daily. Readers can scan the Tag with their mobile device for direct access to videos and online content.
“This initiative is part of our goal to bring together our digital and print platforms to provide our readers easier access to special features from the newspaper. We are proud to be one of the first U.S. newspapers to offer these daily to readers as well as to advertisers who can also take advantage of this new feature,” said Dave Hunke, president and publisher of USA TODAY.
Below is one of the first Tags that USA Today published.
