Kaspersky Labs today announced at a Channel Partners Meet in Mumbai, that the have appointed star cricketer Sachin Tendulkar as its brand ambassador for its Kaspersky brand of security software.
Starting this October, Tendulkar will represent the Kaspersky brand in India and other regional markets around the world.
Said Sachin Tendulkar, I myself have used Kaspersky products in the past to protect my personal computers and mobile devices, and am satisfied with the performance, security and speed. Just like in cricket, where you need quicker reflexes, what I understand is that Kaspersky’s response time to threats is much quicker and faster than the others. The youth of this nation looks up to Sachin Tendulkar as a huge inspiration. We are naturally excited to be associated with the cricketing maestro, Kaspersky Lab Managing Director (Asia Pacific) Harry Cheung said.
Sachin Tendulkar is one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket.
Kaspersky Labs is a developer of securtity software and threat management solutions and its desktop antivirus and security suites are very popular among computer users.
Currently the retail antivirus sales in India is largely dominated by QuickHeal, Net Protector, etc, and it will be interesting to see how the local players will react, now that a well-known leading antivirus company has roped in an Indian hero to endorse its product.
