IT professionals and developers got a taste of final version of Office 2013 earlier via Technet and MSDN subscriptions. The tech bigwig is now making it available officially for purchase by business customers.
Office 2013 for Business
Available under Microsoft licensing the productivity suite has been updated with more style and support, especially for touch. It includes Office 2013 and exchange 2013 Server. The applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook come with the same set of features as seen in the former versions but now have been designed to work better across all kinds of devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and hybrid tablet/laptops.
“The new Office works beautifully with touch, stylus, mouse or keyboard to give you the ultimate productivity experience. It brings the familiar Office experience to a wide range of new devices and gives you the best experience on Windows,” said Manchanda of Microsoft.
The software has turned more social as it now adds real-time news feeds and high-definition video-conferencing features. It has also become more secure with a built-in malware protection and data loss prevention features.
Windows Surface RT owners have already received the final RT version of the productivity suite as the Surface RT comes with a free copy of Office RT for all buyers.
General users will have to wait to get their hands on a copy of Office 2013 until the first quarter of 2013. Business Consumers and companies, on the other hand, without Microsoft Volume Licensing will get a copy of it via retail and online channels.
