Year 2012 has been a big year for Microsoft having released new OS Windows 8, Windows 8 Phone Software, Windows RT Surface tablet, upgraded Xbox Interface and 51 specialty stores.
The basic strategy behind opening the six new Microsoft stores is to help the customers getting better exposure to the latest Microsoft products like Windows Phone devices and Surface tablets.
Microsoft is now moving its business beyond software into hardware. It sure looks like Microsoft is kind of mimicking Apple’s strategy by opening new retail as well and specialty stores worldwide. Company will reportedly continue expanding its retail coverage by planning more of such stores in future.
