After experimenting with its various ad platforms, Microsoft has now come up with a new ad format “Ad Pano” with latest and interactive adverts. Redmond-based software giant has teamed up with some leading media agencies like VML, UM, Worldwide, Rooster, Rozorfish and BMB to create these interactive ad formats.
Jennifer Creegan and Stefan Kim from Microsoft advertising team announced these ‘interactive Ads in Apps project with creative agencies’ last year during Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival.
Resembling somewhat with Apple’s iAd format, the new Ad Pano adverts from Microsoft will entice the user to click on the ads. The first look of new ad format from Microsoft was unleashed today the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and will initially appear only in US and UK.
Five iconic brands like Dell, Vans Shoes, Merceded Benz USA, MasterCard and All Saints Clothing will show their ads within relevant MS applications. The new “Ad Pano” adverts will be launched on Windows 8 and will appear on the apps integrated within Microsoft Advertising SDK for Windows 8.
Similarly, Vans Shoes will appear within Skype app. The ‘Ad Pano’ is the first interactive ad format to run on Windows 8 offering an active anchor ad experience with a series of 15 images much like a flip-book. Ad Pano gives the advertisers a potential to deliver panoramic, immersive and interactive ads.
