When it comes to corporate social responsibility, Microsoft has always been a front runner. Coming with yet another initiative, Microsoft has announced free Microsoft Office for worldwide students and teachers. Making the announcement, Microsoft said that now millions of students from different parts of the world can sign up for free for Office 365 from their school.
Last year in September, Microsoft launched a program that allowed students living in the US to use Office 365 for free. Students were required to check their eligibility for Office 365 license. But now Microsoft has extended this facility to students across the world.
Making the announcement, Office 365 Team said,
“Millions of students around the world are eligible for free Office from their school and today we are announcing that we’ve made it easy for all eligible students globally to sign up themselves to get Office 365 and install free Office.That includes the 5.5 million eligible students in Australia, the nearly 5 million eligible students in Germany, 7 million more in Brazil, 1.3 million at Anadolu University in Turkey, every student in Hong Kong and millions more.”
The announcement was also made at the public event held by the “New York City Department of Education”, where New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito spoke about the initiative. So now both students, as well as teachers, can have access to Microsoft Office 365 and that is also free of cost. Students just need to have a valid email address to complete the signup process.

Students can check their eligibility and then entering the right email id provided by their school. Teachers also need to follow the same procedure to check their eligibility to access Microsoft Office 365 for free. School management doesn’t need to worry at all as it will put no additional cost to them.
