Summer schools are boring except when they provide you knowledge on cutting edge technology along with a few freebies. Microsoft is offering a summer schools for a limited number of students and will not only pay them a stipend of $5000 but also offer them a free laptop to work on. In addition, the company is also offering free lunches and dinners on certain days of the summer school.
Microsoft Summer School
The summer course is named Microsoft Research Data Science Summer School and will be held at New York, USA. Since they are taking in a limited number of students, if you want to avail this offer, you have to act fast. There is no information on how much you have to pay.
Microsoft has only listed what it will provide. Probably, the summer school is free for qualifying students, but that is not for sure. Probably the fee details come up after filling in the registration form. You have to see if it is within your budget or you might even take a loan as the course involves working on real life projects and will provide you with an edge when you apply for jobs or for a promotion in your career.
Microsoft Summer School is more towards Cloud Computing and Big Data Analysis. It would be eight weeks long, intensive introduction to data science for college students residing in the New York City area. That is also a limiting factor. If you are based outside New York, you are out of luck.
The Data Science Summer School will include course work in Data Science and group research projects. Leading data scientists from Microsoft will be conducting the classes so you would not want to miss it out. The summer school will be held in the Microsoft Research office in New York city.
