Microsoft is all about delivering solid reporting when it comes down to OneDrive for Business, Exchange Online, and SharePoint Online. The company first rollout the usage report back in March of this year, and now it has decided to improve on that in a big way.
When it comes down to SharePoint Online reporting, it’s all about knowing users from your organization take advantage of the service. It shows how folks use the service in terms of collaborating on files and sharing them. The information also shows which user is active on SharePoint, and the file they are currently using.
Sharepoint and OneDrive get a new Usage Report features
Since the first rollout of the usage activity dashboard in March, we’ve continued our work to provide you with a better reporting experience. Many of the old usage reports have now been migrated to the new admin center. Today, we are happy to announce three new usage reports for SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business and Exchange Online, which provide you with additional insights about how end users in your organization are using and adopting Office 365.
Want to know which user synchronized a particular document? That’s fine because the new reporting service shows that without having to dig deep into settings or whatever else. Microsoft intends on updating the report feature to show page views and other actions managers can use.
The OneDrive reporting shows similar things, so there’s not much to talk about in that regard.
What Microsoft has done here is great for business owners and should improve the company’s prospects in that regard. Competition has become a problem for Microsoft in the business space, especially for Skype. The company recently closed an office in London, though we doubt more will happen in the near future.
Slack is one of Microsoft’s biggest competitors in the market right now, and the one service that could dethrone Skype from being the best place for business owners to make video calls, voice calls, and collaborate with each other remotely.
