Halo Wars 2 is set to release on both Windows 10 and the Xbox One this month. The game is a title coming from Microsoft that is much different from the traditional Halo game we’ve come to love ever since the first title came out on the original Xbox.

Halo Wars 2 First Xbox Play Anywhere
The Halo Wars 2 series is all about strategy, similar to the top-down strategy games found on the PC. The second title is being developed by the same developers who create the Total War series, Creative Assembly. This should give players and overall fans of the series an idea of what to expect before the game goes on sale later this month.
The New Card-Based Game Mode
One of the big differences with Halo Wars and Halo Wars 2, is the new card-based game mode. Players will have to find a way to understand this new formula. We should point out the name of this game mode is called Blitz, and players will still be able to take advantage of the regular RTS mode they.
With Blitz, players will build decks of cards and use them to order troops around. If you’re into strategy card games, then this mode might very well work out in a way that makes the game more fun. Furthermore, we believe this mode is more fitting for the controller, while the regular RTS mode is more along the lines of the mouse and keyboard players.
Let’s Talk About The Campaign
For those who might be unaware of what’s going on, Halo Wars’ campaign will take place on the Ark, and the setting is after the events of Halo 5: Guardians. This will likely mean the game could dig into certain things that took place in Halo 5, and then give teasers of what’s to come in Halo 6.
The Multiplayer
Now, this wouldn’t be a Halo game without multiplayer, and as such, Halo Wars 2 is rocking what appears to be one of the best we’ve seen from an RTS game in a long time. And rightfully so seeing as Creative Assembly is behind the game with Microsoft’s guidance.
Players can play in up to 3v3 matches where each player must move to defeat all competitors to become the winner. Furthermore, the game supports Xbox Play Anywhere, which means the player can purchase the title on the Xbox One, and play it without additional cost on Windows 10.

Since this is an RTS game, there is no need to have a supercomputer to power the game. For those who might be wondering, Microsoft recommends a Windows 10 PC with 4GB of VRAM, and 8GB of RAM, followed by 25GB of hard drive space. On the other hand, Windows 10 64bit is required here along with an Intel Core i5-4690K processor, or the AMD FX-8350.
In terms of the GPU, Microsoft recommends the AMD RX 48 0r NVidia GTX 1060.
