Microsoft last year released Edge browser for iPhones, iPads and Android devices. This was a big release in terms of their cross-platform strategy. This Microsoft Edge team is being led by one of the well known and experienced senior at Microsoft. He is Joe Belfiore. Since its release, Microsoft Edge for these cross-platform devices has been getting regular updates and fixes. They are steadily gaining more and more features that keep it at par with Microsoft Edge on a Windows 10 PC.
New features with Microsoft Edge v42.1.0 for iPhones and iPads
Recently, Microsoft Edge for iPhones and iPads was updated to version 42.1.0. With this update, it is pretty much more integrated with the Microsoft Store and Windows 10 PCs. If you bought an ebook on your Windows 10 PC or Tablet, you will be able to download it on your iPhone or iPad and read it on the go.
As we all know, this Ebooks feature is exclusive to the audience based in the United States of America only as of now on the PC and it stays pretty much the same with this update too. Also, this feature is yet to arrive on Android devices too.
With this update, you would not be able to highlight, annotate or add bookmarks in your books yet. It works as a simple and basic feature as of now but we expect the full functionality to be rolled out soon.
This update does not only include the Ebook sync feature but also the following features:
- Favorites and password syncing coming soon
- On iPad, press the Command key of your attached keyboard to see available shortcuts
- Improved Hub design
- Read books on the go
- Books from the Microsoft Store
- Bookmarks, annotation, and highlights not supported
- Performance improvements.
