Fans of the Gears of Wars franchise can now rejoice since Gears Tactics is available now with Xbox Game Pass for PC, Steam, and Windows 10 PC. The title is spin-off series from the popular Gears of War franchise, and from what we can tell, critics are throwing in a lot of praise towards the new game.
Gears Tactics now available for PC
To make things even more interesting, Gears Tactics is also available via Xbox Game Pass for consoles and PC. If you’re a new member of the service, Microsoft is offering a chance to subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate for just $1, and this will last for an entire month.
Now, according to critics, Gears Tactics, while not the same when compared to the regular games, brings a lot of the popular mechanics to the table, and they seem to work together really well. The game is indeed a great fit for tactics genre, much so than the previously released Halo Wars.
According to Xbox Wire, the game is set 12-years before the beginning of the Gears of War main storyline. In this new game, cities across planet Sera are crumbling due to advances made by the Locust Horde. It is then left in the hands of Gabe Diaz and his crew to set things right.
The plan, then, is to hunt down Ukkon, the leader of the Locust army, and destroy him before he makes any significant advances that could see them winning the war. Interestingly enough, Ukkon has the ability to create monsters, which means, if not stopped, he could produce an endless supply of soldiers for the cause.
If you are able to play Gears Tactics before May 4, then you will be gifted for free the Thrashball Cole Character Pack, which includes Augustus Cole as a potential recruit, along with the Thrasball Armor.
For those who are huge fans of the Gears of War series, Microsoft is recommending the novel, “Gears of War: Bloodlines,” which sets the story for Gears of War 5, and Gears Tactics.
