Google today announced g.co, a new official URL shortcut for Google websites. Google already has goo.gl, another URL shortner which is open to the public.
However g.co will only link to official Google products and services. Moreover only Google will be able to create g.co shortcuts.
The idea is, you can safely clcik on a g.co link knowing very well that it has been created by Google and will take you to a Google webpage only.
By launching g.co, Google follows Twitter which uses t.co, in getting its own official URL shortner.
goo.gl will continue to be Google’s public URL shortner, Google has assured all.
