The Google Web Rangers contest is now open for Indians. Google is calling teenagers from across the country to get a complete training on the safe use of internet. Furthermore, the contenders will also get the training to create their own campaigns about cyber safety and spread the word in their schools and communities. The contest is all about the safe use of internet and promoting cyber safety among Indians.
Google Web Rangers Contest
Web-Rangers is an initiative that brings together teenagers from across the country to spread awareness about cyber safety and have them create their own campaigns, promoting safe use of the internet.
The contest is open for students of class 5th to 10th of any Indian school. Parent’s and teacher’s consent is required to enter the contest. Opening date of the Web Rangers contest is 13th February 2015 and end by 12th May 2015, midnight (IST). One can apply for the contest both online or offline.Online Registration for Web Rangers
Online Registration for Web Rangers:
- Fill all the questions in the form.
- Take a printout of your responses.
- The parent/guardian needs to sign the declaration present at the end of the printed copy
- Scan the signed copy
- Email the signed copy to [email protected]
Offline Registration for Web Rangers:
- Take a print out of the online form and fill up your responses.
- The parent/guardian needs to sign the declaration present at the end of the printed copy
- Send the signed copy to the address below. Please make sure you include your project related information as well.
The Web Rangers will conduct a workshop for students to learn about the safe use of internet and other online behavior.
Talking about the workshop Director of Public Quality Operations at Google India, Sunita Mohanty says, “The workshop were broadly divided into four broad categories- scams, social media safety, manage digital footprint and identification of safe online content. The sessions were creatively designed to leave a lasting impression on the students”.
