Many leading brands that partnered Windows as OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) showcased their products at IFA, Berlin. These products (Tablets, PCs) include some amazing hardware innovations and they would be introduced in the market with Windows 8, this October. Companies like Asus, Dell, HP, Toshiba, Lenovo were among those showing off their new products with many hardware and software advancements. Their products ranged from the models in which keyboards detach from screens to the ones in which the keys remain attached but can be hidden behind displays.
Let us have a look at some of them unveiled at the IFA Berlin Event.
Asus Vivo Tab RT
The new line of “transformer” PCs from ASUS is a good example of tablets that run the Windows RT operating system powered by ARM processors and provides an easy docking setup. The tab uses high-quality rear and front cameras of 8 MP and 2 MP respectively . It ships with 2GB of memory and 32 GB of on-board eMMC storage. Unlike its sibling Vivo tab, Vio RT has 10.1” display that supports 1366 x 768 resolution.
Dell XPS 10
DELL XPS 10 is 10-inch tablet having an HD touch-screen and running Windows 8 RT. It features a mobile keyboard dock with long battery life, and support for enterprise applications to business users.Besides, the tablet has a micro-USB connector, micrSD slot and is supposed to run a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor.
Samsung ATIV Smart PCs
The docking tablet from Samsung is sleek and powerful. It supports a range of touch and gesture commands that makes the tablet amazingly adaptable for home, professional and commercial uses. The lightweight tablet weighs only 570 grams and has a 10.1 inches display. Rather than using Intel’s x86 Architecture, Samsung ATIV runs on 1.5 GHz dual-core ARM processor. It has 2 GB RAM and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 & 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0 Host, 3.5 mm audio jack, Micro HDMI, NFC, S-GPS for connecivity purposes. Also, there is high quality camera at its front and rear position.
Sony VAIO Duo 11
This tablet features a surf-slider keyboard that makes it easier for a user to carry it. Moreover, it ships with a stylus that allows users to write flawlessly and interact easily in tablet mode, making writing experience a breeze.
HP Envy Spectre X2
Another detachable tablet PC with a slick aluminum chassis. HP Spectre Envy X2 has magnets embedded in the PC for docking or guiding the tablet into the dock. It will run Intel’s third-generation processors and a 64GB solid state drive. A new HP Connected Photo(3) application has been included in the tablet to support seamless syncing of photos across multiple devices and offer basic editing options and instant-sharing capabilities for social networks.
Toshiba Satellite U925
Toshiba’s Satellite U925t is a tablet-convertible version of its more traditional U920 laptop offering. The tablet from Toshiba features a 12.5-inch screen that easily converts to a tablet.
