iBall launches world’s most economical Windows tablet for Rs 4999

Indian electronic manufacturer iBall on Tuesday launched a new tablet iBall Slide i701 in collaboration with Intel and Microsoft. This latest tablet running Windows 8.1 is said to be the world’s most economical Windows tablet and is priced at an unbelievable price of Rs 4999 (~ $79).


iBall Slide 701 Specifications

The tablet has decent specs even for that price. Running on Windows 8.1 , iBall Slide i701 has

  • 1 GB DDR3 RAM
  • 16 GB built-in storage
  • Expandable upto 32 GB with micro SD card

  • supports USB OTG, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G on the dongle

Freebies with Tablet

Priced at Rs 4999 , making it one of the cheapest Windows tablet, it runs on Windows 8.1 and is freely upgradable to Windows 10 when its launched. Apart from this it includes 1 year of Office 365 license, 1 TB of free OneDrive cloud storage.

Apart from these, iBall brand ambassador Kareena Kapoor’s autograph on the back cover and 3 interchangeable vibrant protective covers worth Rs 599 are also provided.

Free HDMI cable worth Rs 699 is also provided. The HDMI port allows the consumer to connect the Tablet to PC, Projector or even TV for the larger viewing experience. The tablet will be available through retail stores and online from 21 st May.

    This could be poised to overshadow that small “$9” computer running on Linux and recently popular at “Kickstarter”; the iBall version though Windows appears better supported and at USD49 is very equivalent in price to the upper projected highest cost of the as-yet unfinished “Kickstarter” alternative for strained budgets.
