The holiday season is just around the corner and Microsoft has some new products up in their sleeves. Today, with a digital release video on YouTube and a blog post, Microsoft has announced an all-new Surface Laptop Go. Surface Pro X (2nd Generation) and some new Surface-branded accessories.
Surface Laptop Go, new Surface Pro X announced
With this announcement, Microsoft is expanding its presence in 11 new markets in Europe. Starting now, Microsoft Surface devices will be available in the following countries in Europe:
- Bulgaria.
- Croatia.
- The Czech Republic.
- Estonia.
- Greece.
- Hungary.
- Latvia.
- Lithuania.
- Romania.
- Slovakia.
- Slovenia.
Surface Laptop Go
The Surface Laptop Go is a new product line of affordable laptops from Microsoft. It carries the same design as the latest Surface Laptop 3. The following are the specifications of the Surface Laptop Go:
- 12.45-inch display with rounded corners.
- Powered by Intel Core i5 10th Gen.
- Display with a resolution of 1536 x 1024.
- Variants of 4GB / 64GB (eMMC storage), 8GB / 128GB, 8GB / 256GB.
- Aluminum and Polycarbonate external chassis.
- Fast charging.
- 13-hour battery life.

The Surface Laptop Go does not have a Windows Hello IR Camera but instead has a fingerprint scanner mounted to its Power button. This would have helped Microsoft to keep the costs in control. The consumer model of the Surface Laptop Go comes with Windows 10 Home in S Mode but the commercial model comes with Windows 10 Pro out of the box.
The Surface Laptop Go is available for pre-order now and starts shipping on October 13th.
Surface Pro X (2nd-Gen)
This is the second generation of the new Surface Pro X line up. It was an ARM edition of the Surface Pro devices that promised long battery life and great connectivity with LTE. The 2nd Generation of the Pro X brings in the following specifications:
- Microsoft SQ2 ARM Chip (only for 16 RAM variant).
- Microsoft SQ1 ARM Chip (for other variants).
- Variants of 8GB / 128GB, 8GB / 256GB, 16GB / 256GB, 16GB / 512GB.
- LTE Connectivity.

The Surface Pro X comes with Studio quality microphones and a Windows Hello IR Camera for authentication. It is the thinner and supports the mounting of the Surface Slim Pen inside the type cover with support for wireless charging.

Microsoft has also announced the following accessories to help a user get more productive:

- Microsoft Number Pad powered by Bluetooth at $29.99.
- Microsoft 4K Wireless Display Adapter with support for 4k resolution priced at $69.99.
- Microsoft Bluetooth Ergonomic Mouse with premium ergonomic design at $49.99.
- Microsoft Modern Mobile Mouse in a new sandstone color.
