Microsoft announces Windows AI Studio
As many developers want to bring new AI features and abilities to their applications, they are hindered by a lack of trusted ways to get started with local AI development. To provide a safe way for developers and enterprises, Microsoft announced Windows AI Studio. Windows AI Studio comes with many tools, frameworks, and open-source models. It will be a new experience for developers with an extended tooling of Azure AI Studio to kickstart AI development locally on Windows.
With Windows AI Studio, AI development on Windows is easier and faster than ever. It simplifies generative AI development with all the cutting-edge AI development models from Azure AI Studio and other catalogs like Hugging Face. The developers can fine-tune, customize, and deploy state-of-the-art small language models, or SLMS, in the locally developed Windows apps.
Microsoft announced in its blog that:
“Windows AI Studio brings us closer to supporting Hybrid Loop development patterns and enabling hybrid AI scenarios across Azure and client devices. This gives developers greater choice to run their models either on the cloud on Azure or on the edge locally on Windows (or across the two) to meet their needs. Prompt Flow makes it easier than ever to implement this hybrid pattern by switching between local SLMs and cloud LLMs.”
Windows AI Studio as a VS Code Extension will be available in the coming weeks, giving a seamless interface for AI development. Microsoft and the new updates to Dev Home bring new enterprise features in Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) to enhance security.
