Windows Sever 2016 was officially launched in Ignite Conference in Atlanta. The cloud-ready operating system brings a bunch of new features, functionality innovations, and a few security updates.
Announcing the new server Microsoft Windows Server Team said,
“It is a great server OS to run traditional applications and datacenter infrastructure, and at the same time it delivers an unprecedented amount of innovation to help customers transition workloads to a more secure, efficient and agile cloud model. It is a great place to land all your workloads, providing the flexibility to run them on-premises or in the cloud”.

Windows Server 2016 comes with an advanced layer of security thereby protecting your PC from malicious attacks. It also detects the suspicious activity if any and warns the users about the emerging threats. A new feature of Control Privileged Access, protects the Windows PC from intruders.
Increased Efficiency With Software- Defined Datacenter
The newly launched server brings new models of cloud efficiency inspired by Azure with more flexibility, better network and storage features for the data center. The software-defined storage capability provides an efficient data center with reduced storage management costs and also a faster network scale which further balances the workloads.
Modern and New deployment options
Windows Server 2016 brings a modern and cloud-ready platform to deploy and run the applications. The newly added Nano Server deployment option and the Windows Server Containers transforms the way you develop and run the applications. It brings scale, agility and security benefits to the existing applications and helps developers to build the new cloud-optimized applications using the built-in containers, Nano Server, and microservices.
Furthermore, Microsoft also launched System Center 2016 which delivers a simplified management experience and helps in deploying the new features in Windows Server 2016.
Beginning today, Windows Server 2016 is available for evaluation. The fully licensed software will be available for Volume Licensing Customers by mid-October.
