Microsoft has announced a new smartphone named Lumia 540 Dual SIM today. Lumia 540 Dual SIM is available for a price tag of less than $150. Running on latest Windows Phone 8.1 Denim update, the smartphone is upgradable to upcoming Windows 10 OS by Microsoft. Just last month, Microsoft added two new devices, Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL to their portfolio.
Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM
Lumia 540 Dual SIM has 5 inch screen with HD display(294 PPI) which is great for watching videos and TV shows. The presence of 5 megapixel front camera and the pre-loaded Lumia Selfie app makes Lumia 540 a perfect selfie phone. At the rear, the phone has 8 megapixel camera with LED flash.
Lumia 540 is powered by 1.2 Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The external memory supports MicroSD card with upto 128GB. Microsoft is offering 15GB of OneDrive cloud storage with additional 15GB when auto-upload is enabled for OneDrive. Lumia 540 has a removable battery with a good capacity of 2200 mAh providing a standby time of upto 24 days with a maximum talktime of upto 26.2 hours on 2G network and 14.8 hours on 3G network. The phone is as thin as 9.4mm and weighs 152 grams.
Senior design manager of industrial design and mechanics at Microsoft, Mr Iain Pottie, during the announcement said,

Our customers are the source of so much inspiration, but we know they have different needs and budgets, so we always want to provide choice. That’s why today we’re introducing the new Lumia 540 Dual SIM.
