Microsoft has announced that it is rolling out a new update for Outlook for Windows. This latest update brings Microsoft To-Do app in Outlook for Windows. The To-Do integration in Outlook for Windows will be available for Microsoft 365 Current Channel users starting with version 2207. Microsoft has already integrated the To-Do app in Outlook on the Web app. This new update integrates To Do in Outlook for Windows with more features.
Microsoft rolls out To-Do integration in Outlook
With this new update, Microsoft 365 users will be able to access the To Do app directly from Outlook for Windows along with the main Outlook functions which are displayed vertically on the left pane. Have a look at some of the features that you will get after the To Do integration in Microsoft Outlook 365.
- Flagged emails: Just like Outlook on the Web app, now you can view all your flagged emails in the Flagged email category of the To Do app. The To Do app will let you view the snippet of your flagged emails. If you want to read the email, click on the Open in Outlook link.
- Assigned tasks: With this new update, all the assigned tasks will be available in a single place, right in the Assigned to me list. With To Do in Outlook, you can view and manage the tasks assigned to you in Planner.
- My Day: Now, you can effectively plan your day in the My Day list in To-Do app in Outlook 365.
How to get the To-Do app in Outlook
To get the To-Do app in Microsoft Outlook, you should have Microsoft 365 subscription and user license for Microsoft To Do app. The To Do app will be available on the vertical sidebar in Microsoft Outlook for Windows.
According to the Microsoft Tech Community post, here are the versions of Microsoft 365 in which users will find the To Do integration in Outlook:
- Current Channel Version 2201 (Build 14827.20000) or later: Available by turning on the Coming Soon toggle.
- Current Channel Version 2207 (Build 15427.20000) or later: Available by default. (Feature rollout is still in progress. Some users may still need to turn on the Coming Soon toggle until the feature has fully rolled out).
