It’s a well known fact that Microsoft Surface has been well received in the current tablet market. Recently, its sales crossed that of Google Nexus 10. As a result, Microsoft Corporation has decided to expand the horizon of the market for Surface Pro and Surface RT. These tablets have a huge demand worldwide, but are not available everywhere. Especially Surface Pro, which is currently available in 3 countries only.
Presently, Microsoft Surface RT is available in 25 countries which are – Singapore, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Russia, Portugal, UK, USA, New Zealand, Norway, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Italy, Japan, Ireland, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Finland, Denmark, China, Canada, Belgium, Austria and Australia. Now they plan to launch in it 4 more countries which are as follows:
- Malaysia: To be launched on 25th April.
- Mexico: To be launched by the end of May.
- Korea and Thailand: To be launched in June.
As far as Microsoft Surface Pro is concerned, it is available in 3 countries at present – which include Canada, USA and China. Their expansion plans for this version are as follows:
- Switzerland, Sweden, Spain, Russia, Portugal, UK, New Zealand, Norway, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Italy, Japan, Ireland, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Finland, Denmark, China, Canada, Belgium, Austria and Australia: To be launched by the end of May.
- Thailand, Singapore, Russia, Malaysia and Korea: To be launched by the end of June.
In order to facilitate this expansion, Microsoft has worked well on increasing its stock and hopes smooth openings in the new markets. Watching the current public response to the tablet, we are quite sure that it will fetch a good response in the new ventures as well.
