Microsoft Teams has been known for its professional features and use in professional scenarios, but not anymore. Now that more people are working from home, the Redmond Giant has expanded it for personal use with more and more features pouring in. This post highlights some of the features rolled to all with no boundary between personal and professional life.
Microsoft Teams gets more Family-iar
The features including chat and call with family, allowing people to use it without installing the app, notification when family comes online (remember how it used to be for messenger in old times), and more. Be aware that these features are rolling out and may take some time to arrive for everybody.
Chat and call with family from Desktop
The limitation to only use the phone app to communicate with family is gone now. You can add a personal account anywhere and communicate with them from anywhere. Teams can not be open in different windows or browsers, making them easy to manage. The messages sync across devices, and there is no limitation on how long you can make a video or audio call. Those who do not want to install an app or don’t have teams and talk with 49 friends and see them all in one frame. You can also upload and share photos and videos to personal or group chat.

Teams mobile app new features
- Chat with people in teams even if they do not have the Teams app. You can pick up the address group’s contact, and the messages will be sent through regular SMS. They can optionally install the Teams app and make the conversation experience even better. The feature will be made available to US and Canadian users first.
- If you plan to meet someone, it can notify you about their location if they are close to you. Once allowed they can also receive automatic alerts when you are around them.
- Next, you can add group events from chats to the device’s calendar, get task and location updates, and add a photo to your personal safe
Based on the current situation, work from home culture makes it not surprising to see all these tools opening up. It’s the right time they can reach more people and increase their customer base. Zoom, Google Meet, and everyone else are doing it, and customers cannot be happier about it.
