To foster economic growth in communities worldwide, facilitate opportunities for young entrepreneurs and help promote individual prosperity, The Secretary of State Hillary Clinton launched the ‘Startup Youth Initiative’ via a video message. The launching took place during the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Dubai, UAE on December 12.
Startup Youth Initiative
Through this initiative the US Department of State, Microsoft will try to connect budding entrepreneurs with business leaders who will share their advice and help these young innovators turn their ideas into reality. For this, both are planning to host an event that will include a speaker series and workshops.
The first event under the Startup Youth Initiative will be ‘Innovate for Good’, an event to be hosted by Microsoft and State Department of the US, jointly.
Innovate for Good is a Microsoft YouthSpark program in partnership with TakingITGlobal. The program invites youth from different communities to work together, inspire and support each other while using technology to make a difference to their communities.
The initiative will feature eminent personalities like Zeenat Rahman as special adviser, Akhtar Badshah, Senior Director, Microsoft Citizenship and Corporate Affairs, and some leading young entrepreneurs who will discuss the role of partnerships in facilitating the advancement of young entrepreneurs.
The state department praised Microsoft for joining in its efforts to help millions of young people around the world, currently struggling to find a job. It believes that this is a crisis that they must address soon for the sake of future peace and prosperity.
