Windows 10 taskbar gets News and Interests icon
This means users can now access weather-related data and other interest-based updates from the taskbar itself. While there is an option to click on the button and open a fully-fledged interface, the taskbar widget itself looks incredible. This section of the Windows 10 taskbar is now showing the current temperature in your area and minimal weather forecast.
Weather updates are not the only thing you can find on the brand-new taskbar widget, though. Clicking on the weather snippet would open a fully-fledged UI that offers you news updates, scores, trending news, and the status of stocks that you are watching.
Microsoft has designed this section not to affect whatever you are doing on your Windows 10 computer. The information widgets can easily tuck under the snippet once you are done checking out the weather or the latest headlines. The widget also offers a button that shows more news entries on the screen.
Hide News and Interests icon on Windows 10 taskbar
The procedure is simple:
- Right-click on taskbar
- Hover over News and Interests
- Select the Hidden option.
The company says that users have maximum control over all things that appear on the weather screen. For instance, Microsoft has tied up with more than 4,500 brands that deliver authentic news stories to the home screen of Windows 10.
Similarly, customers will have control over what information gets shared between the services, and they can manage this information from the Microsoft Privacy Dashboard. Besides, users can enjoy personalization options, as well. For example, if a customer wants to see more tech and science-related stories frequently, they can use the sub-menus on each widget.
