Nokia starts rolling out the Lumia Amber update

After long wait, Lumia Amber Update for Nokia devices finally sees the green light. The new update promises to offer a number of significant additions. For instance, there is Smart Camera software added for offering the motion focus picture options. The software is ideal for capturing images involving movement.

Till now, the highlight of the phone was ‘Change Faces’. It was ideal for creating ideal group shots by choosing the best faces from the series.

Other useful additions include,

Nokia Glance Screen

This has been one of the most requested feature for Lumia smartphones. It displays a clock on your phone screen when it is inactive along with other indicators such as battery power. Nokia Glance Screen won’t be for Lumia Windows Phone 8 devices with smaller display like Nokia Lumia 520 and Nokia Lumia 625.

Flip to silence and double-tap to unlock

Flip the phone over to mute an incoming call and simply double tap the screen to unlock and activate your phone.

The rollout starts now first for the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 in selected countries as well as the Lumia 521, Lumia 810, and Lumia 928 in the US. Exact delivery timings will vary by region, phone and operator, but we expect the update to reach your Lumia 520, Lumia 620, Lumia 720, Lumia 820 or Lumia 920 by the end of September, said Finnish giant Nokia.
