Microsoft held a conference on Tuesday and there the company made several big hardware announcements. It wasn’t a huge surprise because several leaks made it to the web beforehand, but the leaks didn’t kill the excitement.
Surface Pro 6, Surface Laptop 2, Surface Studio 2, Surface Headphones launched
During the conference, we got the chance to meet the Surface Pro 6, Surface Laptop 2, Surface Studio 2 and Surface Headphones. These devices represent the best of Microsoft’s hardware innovation, and we’re sure there’s more to come.
Surface Pro 6
In the past, folks were wondering if Microsoft would no longer refresh the Surface Pro line an just focus on the Surface Laptop. This was due to the fact that the company refreshed the Surface Laptop but did nothing for the Surface Pro.
Such rumors have been put the rest with the announcement of the Surface Pro 6, and we’re happy.
You see, this baby is packing a powerful 8th generation Intel® Quad Core™ processor. We understand that it’s 67 percent faster than the processor inside the Surface Pro 5, and to make things even more interesting, users can use it all day on a single charge.
The PixelSense™ Touch Display is back, along with the support for Windows Hello. Also, the finish is black, which further solidifies its elegance as a must have Windows 10 device for those who require a tablet, but with the power of Windows 10 on the go.
Surface Laptop 2
Yes, this product is impressive and it also comes in black, so there’s that. However, what’s more, interesting here is the fact that the new Quad Core 8th generation Intel® processor is 85 percent faster than the original.
Do you want 14.5 hours of battery life? Worry not, the Surface Laptop 2 has got you covered in that important area. Additionally, PixelSense™ Touch Display is back, and the GPU has gotten a well-needed boost, so get ready to play some high-quality video games on the go.
Surface Studio 2
The first Surface Studio was a huge surprise to many. Not everyone expected Microsoft to release such a product, but the company did, and it was a resounding success. It wasn’t perfect, but it worked, and now the Surface Studio 2 comes to make it all better.
It is indeed the most powerful Surface ever, and for a very good reason because Microsoft built this thing with creators in mind.
The Surface Studio 2 brings to the table next generation Pascal graphics and 50 percent faster GPU. Furthermore, the display is much better than before, and that’s awesome for any creator. However, Microsoft didn’t say much about the Surface Dial, so we’re hoping it no longer slides off of the screen.
Surface Headphones
Microsoft wanted to complete the Surface experience, and one of the best ways to do this is to introduce a headphone. It’s wireless, it comes with a mic, and guess what? It even supports Cortana.
If you want, you can also connect it to your smartphone and make phone calls. We should point out that the Surface headphones are packed with eight microphones, so yes, this should be good.
