Microsoft India announced the commencement of a 16 city partner roadshow in its endeavour to get the ecosystem ready for the launch of Windows 7 in October this year.
From August to September 2009, Microsoft expects to reach out to over 1800 partners across several cities including Ahmedabad, Cochin, Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Lucknow, Pune , Ranchi and the five metros.
The roadshows are aimed at equipping the partner ecosystem to effectively roll-out Windows 7 in India and maximize the tremendous business opportunity that the new operating system represents for them.
A recent IDC report outlines the significant anticipated impact of Windows 7 even in today’s challenging economic climate.
It reveals that the Indian ecosystem will generate USD 17.58 in revenues, for every dollar earned by Microsoft from Windows 7 from Oct 2009 to Dec 2010, and contribute to the creation of nearly 2.35 lakh jobs or 19% of all IT employment in the country.
