Yammer, Microsoft’s enterprise social networking service that enables private communication within organizations, is bringing a series of changes to the ‘All Company’ group. In a nutshell, all of these changes are part of the Yammer’s strategy to keep organizations informed and engaged. The newly-made changes to Yammer’s All Company group allow organizations to reach and engage all of their employees, host townhall/company meetings, among other things.
Yammer announces changes to All Company
In its recent blog post, Microsoft wrote:
“Organizations are rapidly transforming to meet the needs of a virtual workforce and respond to changing industry conditions. Yammer has been repowered to enable two-way communication between leaders and employees to ensure everyone has the information they need to stay safe, align on priorities and get their work done, together.”
Aiming to boost user engagement, Yammer is now providing admins with some new ways to share their announcements. Admins can make use of questions and polls in the All Company group as conversation starters. This way, admins can share important news and updates, receive input from employees, and more. Yammer also provides admins with close conversations to share read-only announcements.
Yammer further allows customizations to the All Company group. Admins can customize the group name, description, image, and cover photo. This way, admins can easily drive organizations’ attention towards a specific cause or campaign. Yammer also allows admins to host town halls and meetings in the All Company group.
Organizations with enforced Office 365 identity in the network admin setting can host live events and utilize Microsoft 365 resources in All Company.
Admins can also restrict who can post in the All Company Group, courtesy of the new restricting post feature. Users can still react and reply to conversations started by an admin. Promoting any user in your organization as an admin of All Company is now possible.
New Yammer is currently in public preview, featuring a new, redesigned interface alongside new capabilities and integrations throughout Microsoft 365. As a result, Yammer uses the company’s Fluent Design system to its full potential.
