Microsoft Teams has announced several new features this month including improvements to Tasks and Whiteboard. Microsoft wants to help Teams users automate their workflow and enable easier, faster access to digital whiteboards. The company also promises to enhance readability while browsing the web, among other things. Let’s take a look at everything that’s new with Microsoft Teams.
Microsoft Teams improves ‘Tasks’
Enhancements to tasks in Microsoft Teams are expected to help users streamline collaboration, automate workflows, and manage tasks in Microsoft Teams. Now that Microsoft has integrated Tasks into Teams, users no longer have to switch between two different apps that achieve two different goals.
Tasks app in Microsoft Teams promises a new unified task view and assignments from across Microsoft To-Do, Planner, and Outlook. This way, Teams users can consolidate and prioritize their tasks across different Microsoft apps and services.
Microsoft is also bringing a new List view to Teams so that users can edit multiple tasks at once, among other abilities. This new experience is rolling out to Microsoft Teams for desktop users first.
You can add the ‘Tasks’ app to your Teams desktop client. Alternatively, you can also add it as a tab at the top of your Teams channel. Other cross-service integrations include new Power Automate capabilities, access to Visio tabs in Teams, among other features.

Streamline collaboration in Microsoft Teams
Similar to Tasks, some additional features in Microsoft Teams allow users to effectively collaborate during online meetings. Microsoft has implemented new features to Whiteboard in Teams to let users add sticky notes to a canvas.
Teams users can now easily reorder objects on the canvas, courtesy of drag and drop gesture.
Recently, Microsoft announced the general availability of a new Teams feature called Eye Contact in Surface Pro X. This feature helps users adjust their gaze during live Teams meetings.
