Microsoft is focusing more on AI tools that can do various things. Copilot is its most ambitious AI tool based on ChatGPT. Now, the Microsoft research team has introduced a new AI tool Pix2Gif that can turn a still image into a GIF automatically.
Pix2Gif AI tool turns still images into GIFs
Microsoft, like other big corporations, invests big in research. The research team has introduced an AI model that turns a single image into a GIF. Generally, to make a GIF, we need a few images. The images together make a GIF. The new AI model Pix2Gif by Microsoft just turns a single still image into a GIF.
Pix2Gif is still in development, and you can use its demo on GitHub. Pix2Gif is developed as a motion-guided diffusion model for image-to-GIF generation. The tool spatially transforms the source image and makes a GIF ensuring coherency and consistency. The model is based on Stable Diffusion, but it comes with a newly introduced motion-guided warping module.
To use the model, go to Pix2Gif page on GitHub and click on Demo. Then, upload the image you want to turn into a GIF and write a prompt on how you want the GIF. Then, click Generate GIF. It will take a few seconds and generate the GIF based on your prompt from the still image. The AI model may improve with time and help generate videos from still images as an advancement to the model.
