  1. I was intrigued by this, knowing a couple of people who had been unable to do the upgrade, until I saw the condition of having to take the machine to a Microsoft store. This effectively rules out the vast majority of people in this situation unfortunately. Nice PR gesture, but very few people will be able to take advantage of the offer.
