Not that there are many ads or distractions in Outlook.com, but if you want a completely distraction-free Outlook.com experience, you can now get it. Microsoft has announced an Ad-free Outlook and Hotmail plan that will give you an ads free experience in Hotmail and Outlook. Not only that, but your mail account will now never expire, even if you don’t use it. The free Outlook and Hotmail accounts expire after 270 days of inactivity.
To get these facilities, you will be required to upgrade your account by paying USD 19.95 a year.
Outlook Plus or Hotmail Plus comes at a yearly subscription of $19.95 plus tax an includes 10 Gigabytes of total Hotmail account space and exemption from the account expiration policy. No third party advertising. Just feature tips and product info from Microsoft will be displayed.
At the end of 1 year, you will have the option to renew your subscription, or the subscription will expire. You will also receive a renewal letter 30 days prior to the renewal date.
Go here if you plan to upgrade.
The free Outlook and Hotmail accounts expire after 270 days of inactivity, I think!
Thanks. Updated.
Earlier, in Windows Live Hotmail, it was 120 days of inactivity instead of 30 days.
But now, after 270 days without access, a Hotmail account becomes inactive.
i didn’t get any ad in my outlook account….neither when it was Hotmail….weird….
It’s applicable for US people I believe, cuz have tried changing region to India but doesn’t work out !!!
