Microsoft today announced the release of Office for Android Phones Preview. It has the preview for Word, Excel and PowerPoint for Android phones.
Earlier in January, Microsoft Office Preview for Android tablets was made available for all to download. And it has been liked by the users with 4+ rating in the Google Play Store
Today Microsoft announced the preview for Word, Excel and PowerPoint for Android phones. Microsoft has transformed Office from a suite of desktop applications to cross platform, cross-device solution.
Office for Android phones
Office for Android phones are optimized for touch and designed for the work on the go. The Office apps consisting of Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps make documents, spreadsheets and presentations look their best on your Android phone.
The Office Apps for Android phones not only provide the touch friendly experience but also provide the familiar look, feel and quality of Office. It’ll provide the same experience of rendering the documents correctly with all formatting and content in the right place. The documents on the phone can be reviewed and edited easily as the navigation and menu options in the ribbon are placed at bottom of the screen so that one can reach them easily using the thumb.
The charts, text and tables can be easily inserted in Excel. Bring the story to life with your PowerPoint. Review, make quick edits and even present right from your phone. Reflow documents in Word to make them easier to read and navigate.
One can open, edit, save files in the cloud right from the Android phone. So the documents can be accessed anytime, anywhere. OneDrive personal, OneDrive for business, SharePoint, Dropbox, Google Drive, Box all options are available.
One can also share your ideas, presentations with others right from your phone and can also track changes, comment so that everyone knows what is the reason for the edits.

Please note that the existing Office Mobile app for Android phone will still be available in the app store during Preview. We will disclose more about our plans for this app later in the year when we announce general availability of the new Office for Android phone apps.
How to get Office for Android Phone Preview
Bringing the apps first to the preview will provide the user to have an early look while Microsoft can also get the users feedback helping them to further improve the app experience on wide range of Android phones making it available worldwide.
To get these apps, join the Microsoft Office for Android community to participate in the Preview program. Once you join, you can become a tester and you’ll get the links to Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
