Having announced a slew of affordable Windows Phone 8 devices around the world, Nokia India today announced the launch of its two smartphones, Lumia 720 and Lumia 520 for the Indian territory.
The Lumia 520 is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and sports a 4-inch LCD IPS touchscreen. The available in-built memory of 8GB is decent enough to store documents and files along with support for micro-SD cards with capacities ranging up to 64GB. A 5MP camera sits on the rear surface but sadly, the Lumia 520 is devoid of a front-facing camera to hold video calls.
Nokia Lumia 720 features a 4.3 inch LCD touchscreen with ClearBlack Display technology, meaning users can operate the screen even while using hand gloves. Similar to Lumia 520, it also has 8GB of internal memory with micro-SD card support. A 6.7MP Carl Zeiss camera with LED flash sits on the back plus a 1.3MP camera on the front.
The launch of Nokia Lumia 720 and Nokia Lumia 520 reflects our commitment to build a winning ecosystem that will enrich people’s mobile experience and help them connect with each other at newer price points,” – Vipul Mehrotra, Nokia Director Smart Devices (India)
Nokia had unveiled both the handsets during the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona in February 2013. Nokia is steadily building up its Windows Phone user base in India with regular launch of its smartphones across the Indian subcontinent. Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 are few of its popular Windows Phone devices here.
