When it comes to social media platforms, 2012 will be remembered as the year of the rise and rise of Reddit. It stood out from others thanks to its sincere simplicity and interesting content being shared across. Its popularity increased manifold when famous personalities did AMA sessions (Ask Me Anything), some of which led its servers to crash due to huge number of hits.
As the year drew to an end, Reddit released some stats which were indeed mind-blowing! In 2012 alone, it garnered 37 billion page views, 400 million unique visitors, 4 billion votes, 30 million posts and more than 260 million comments. Woah!
Not just that but it also compiled a list of the top 10 posts of 2012 with US President Barack Obama’s AMA session holding the top spot with maximum number of page views:
