The Oculus Rift is an expensive piece of technology, yet we know you’re interested nonetheless. So here’s the thing, for those who are looking to pick up the Rift and a new computer to go with it, we suggest taking the following advice.
The $599 price tag of the Oculus Rift is a tough cookie to eat. That amount of cash could purchase a decent enough Windows 10 computer or even an Xbox One, two Xbox One’s if you look hard enough. It’s no wonder some folks are up in arms, but that’s OK because there’s a way out.
Dell is pushing a good deal right now, one that is designed to make it easier on the pockets of those who are interested in an Oculus Rift. Now here the thing, this deal is only for a selected few. If you’re one of those folks without a computer that has the recommended specs to take advantage of the Rift, this deal is for you.
According to Dell, it will shave $200 from the Oculus Rift’s price-tag if you purchase an Oculus Rift ready computer. At the moment, only two options are available, and they come in the form of the Alienware X51 and the Dell XPS 8900.
The Oculus Rift ready versions of these computers start at $1,199. The $200 discount comes into play when the consumer adds the Oculus Rift into the cart.
When all is said and done, consumers should pay $1,598 overall for both products rather than the heavy $1,798 if folks purchase both separately. So from everything we’ve seen, this deal is a no-brainer and should not be missed for the world by anyone who’s looking to adopt VR earlier than the rest of us.
