Microsoft’s cloud gaming technology Project xCloud launches on September 15. Ahead of the launch, Microsoft has revealed the initial line-up of more than 150 games that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can enjoy over cloud at no additional cost.
Project xCloud beta now available across 22 countries
Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass library will provide console gamers with immensely popular Xbox Game Studios titles including Tell Me Why, Grounded, Forza Horizon 4, and Battletoads. Furthermore, Xbox One users will also have access to partnered content such as Spiritfarer, Untitled Goose Game, and Destiny 2.
“Similar to Xbox Game Pass for Console and PC, you can expect the library to evolve over time based on members’ feedback, with new games added all the time,” said Kareem Choudhry, Corporate Vice President, Cloud Gaming, Microsoft.
Project xCloud enables cross-platform support. Since your Xbox profile is stored and operated from the cloud, you can pause your game on your Xbox console and resume it on your Android phone or a tablet.
Microsoft’s cloud gaming also opens up the Xbox ecosystem to those who don’t own an Xbox One console.
To enjoy the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate benefits, all you need is an Android phone or tablet and a compatible Xbox controller.
Xbox One users can also play cross-play supported games with PC gamers.
“Whether you’re playing with friends on an Xbox One, or if you’re playing with someone experiencing Xbox for the first time through cloud gaming on a mobile device, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate brings you together and makes for the best gaming experience,” Choudhry added.
Microsoft is adding new members to its Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $1 for the first month. After the initial month, the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership will cost $14.99 per month.
