Xbox wants gamers to discover trending content and search the web with the Microsoft Bing app, ahead of the Xbox Series X launch later this year. As a result, Microsoft has announced the preview of Microsoft Bing for Xbox.
Microsoft Bing for Xbox now available
The Microsoft Bing app for Xbox Preview allows gamers to use Bing’s daily image as wallpaper on Xbox’s home screen and see original content, in addition to whatever that is latest in TV, movies, and gaming, etc.
Early-access to Microsoft Bing for Xbox is currently limited to Preview in the United States and folks at Xbox are collecting feedback from Xbox users.
How to participate in Microsoft Bing for Xbox (Preview)
- Make sure to sign-in on your Xbox One console and launch the Xbox Insider Hub app.
- Navigate to Insider content > Apps > Microsoft Bing > Join.
Once you complete the registration, you will be re-directed to Microsoft Store. Now, you can download and install Microsoft Bing for Xbox.
“If you encounter any issues while participating in the Microsoft Bing app for Xbox preview, please submit feedback via Report a problem.”
All you need to do is hold down the Xbox button and then select Report a problem from the power menu. Players can submit feedback under Category > Apps and Subcategory > Microsoft Bing.
Now that Xbox Series X is inching closer to launch, the company is trying to enhance the user experience with deep-integration between different products and services. This way, Microsoft and Xbox want to emphasize that upcoming Xbox Series X is much more than just a box.
Meanwhile, folks at Xbox are proactively justifying the existence of additional offerings like Xbox Game Pass and Project xCloud, etc.
Microsoft is aware of the fact that more than 80 percent of console gamers also play games on their PC and smartphone devices. For Microsoft, this is no less than a golden chance to appease the majority of gamers and seize the business opportunity.
Smart Delivery with Xbox Series X
Along with the Series X, Xbox is also introducing Smart Delivery:
“One of the most exciting of the technologies we’re introducing with Xbox Series X is Smart Delivery, which will ensure that you always play the best version of the games you own for your console, across generations.”
Meaning, if you purchase the Xbox One version of a supported title, Smart Delivery will ensure that you get the Xbox Series X version of the game if you decide to upgrade your console.
